Parent Involvement

A weekly newsletter is sent or emailed to parents giving news of recent and upcoming school events, the children's achievements of which we are particularly proud as well as other snippets of useful information.

The school operates an ‘open door’ policy and teaching staff and Headteacher are always prepared to meet parents at a mutually convenient time. In certain cases there may be times when matters are more pressing. Parents are always welcome in school. If parents arrive without an appointment they will always be seen at the earliest opportunity.

We have a strong working partnership with all of our parents, and we would hope that parents would always contact the school in the event of any problem, no matter how small. In the unlikely event

that problems cannot be resolved at this level, parents can contact our board of Governors, and then have further redress to the Local Education Authority. The school has adopted the official complaints procedure as laid down by West Sussex LEA. A copy of this policy is available from the school office.

Any parents who are willing to give of their time to assist in activities during the day are welcomed to our school. Please contact your child’s class teacher to arrange a mutually convenient time to help. Parents often help with listening to children read, practical activities, swimming and a variety of educational visits. All our regular parent helpers are CRB checked.
